Airstrip
Wing Farm is a private grass airstrip. 500m x 26m, aligned 09/27, and is 435ft AMSL. It has a gradient 1.5% UP on Rwy 27. GPS coordinates are (N51° 09.83' W002° 12.62'). It is located 3½ nm SSW of Warminster, Wiltshire and 1 nm South of Shear Water Lake. Look for row of poplar trees and aluminium-roofed building.
Pilots with suitable aircraft are welcome to fly in, provided that they obey the rules of the airfield. When Visiting the airstrip or Galaxy Microlights you must book in and pay the landing fee first, before you taxi up to the workshop. P.P.R. - Prior Permission Required and a briefing is ESSENTIAL from either:-

Radio is on "Safety Com" frequency - 135.475 Mhz
Signals - There is a wind sock with a directional Red Green disc on top at the West end. If you see Red Disc you are landing with a tail wind, if its Green you are OK.
Parking - Available at the East end. Park on the edge farthest from the trees behind the parked aircraft near to the edge of the uncut Grass field.
Do not block glider access areas.
Joining - overhead at 1500 feet and down wind to the south.
Look out for other non radio traffic and gliders to the south from the Park airstrip.
Noise abatement - All arrivals and departures from/to the West MUST maintain runway heading. The owner of RYE HILL FARM, situated approx. 400m SW of the 09 threshold, is extremely sensitive to aircraft overflying his house and buildings. Failure to use the approved flightpath COULD CAUSE WING FARM AIRFIELD TO BE MADE UNAVAILABLE TO YOU. follow the directions and all will be well.
Fuel - Nearest petrol station Longbridge Deverill, 1 mile away. Fuel is until 10pm and usually open about 7am. Fuel available is Unleaded, super unleaded and Diesel.
Local Garage also has a shop and a post office.

If required, Mogas can be arranged through Galaxy Microlights were I can arrange for transport to and from the garage if fuel is needed . AVGAS can be obtained via Compton Abbas or Old Sarum.
Refreshments:- Tea and coffee can be purchased through Galaxy Microlights or The George pub is opposite the local garage and serves good beer and food all day.
