Galaxy Microlights

Mark has been involved in Microlighting since 1992 when he bought a Thruster TST and then decided to learn to fly it. He achieved this in 1993 and has notched up over 500 reliable and enjoyable hours  mostly on Thrusters since.

Having rebuilt several Thruster TST’s, T300’s and T600’s and worked on countless other Microlights as well as built a couple of Kits, and it came to a point in 2005 when Mark decided to set up his own business, Galaxy Microlights.
 
Mark has founded the Yahoo Groups "Thrusterclub" for anyone interested in Thrusters to ask questions, post information and get advice on building or using Thruster aircraft. 150 members and rising get emailed the clubs messages daily. He has also the flown :-

"I have worked in the past for ABRO (REME)
TES (automatic gearbox overhauls)
Farnborough Sprayers (Paint Spraying)
Helped set up a group called Meteor Flight to restore a 1948 Gloster Meteor T7 back to flying condition for flying displays.

Several years later and after several Thruster rebuilds I became a BMAA inspector for most 3-axis types and later became a BMAA Check Pilot on 3-axis too.”

In the past I have modified several cars to take a bigger more powerful engines, susspention, steering and paintwork. Currently restoring 1 x 1968 Riley Kestrel 1300, 1 x 1967 Austin 1100 and uprating my 1256 Chevette Hatch for more power.

PERMIT INSPECTIONS
Galaxy Microlights is able to inspect the following Microlight catagories:
 
B = 3-axis aircraft
E = 2 stroke engines
F = 4 stroke engines
H = All Metal Structures,
I = Metal frame / Fabric covered
J = GRP and Composite ( NON Structural )
M = Minor Modifications
W = Weight & Balance
 
FLEXWING INSPECTIONS ( ALL TYPES )  CAN BE ARRANGED.
 
I can also undertake a Builder Stage Inspectioon service too.
 
I can undertake weight and balance checks too with our quality digital weight block Scales.
     
Permit inspection cost at Wing Farm = £80  inc Check flight
Permit with weight and Bal at Wing Farm = £150  inc Check flight
Weight and Balance only = £80
Travel to and from Permit inspections,  your site. = £35 per hour + travel @ 50p per mile.
W+B will be carried out on 3 x  high quality Digital weight block scales
 
CHECK FLIGHTS
I am able to undertake Check FlightS on the following 3-axis groups:-
 
Fixed groups - 3, 4, 5, 6 and now 7  as per TIL-36

KIT BUILD GUIDANCE/ MENTORING SERVICE
Galaxy Microlights can also offer a kit builder guidance /  Mentoring service to help you through your build process.
We also conduct Build Stage inspections for your kit build too.
Galaxy can also undertake Building sections of your Build if ou are uncomfortable with carring out the work yourself.
We can also complete a build if you have run out of time or the Will to carry on.
